Hello lovely clients and soon-to-be clients!
This past Sunday I went live on the Faces You Love Facebook page to announce a price update, that will go into effect on Oct 1st of this year.
This was not an easy decision for me to make, as I hate raising prices. It’s uncomfortable, and I always struggle with it, which is likely why it has been a good 5 years + since I raised my regular session fee, 3 years since I raised my newborn session fee, and 2 years since raising the prices of any of my products.
Here’s where we’re at though….
- My costs of doing business has been steadily creeping up (rent, insurance, education, equipment, props, etc), and I’m at the point that I can no longer just “eat” the increases.
- Most of the various professional labs I use for my specialty products (canvases, boxes, albums, wall art, etc) have increased prices over the last year, and some of them (canvas especially) are just too much of a percentage to ignore anymore.
So what’s going up on Oct 1st?
– Session Fees –
my Growing Up fee (what’s used for babies older than 3 months, children, and family portraits) will be increasing to $175
my Newborn fee will be increasing to $250
my Maternity session & collection will be increasing to a flat $300
– Collections/Products –
Watch Me Grow plans will be increasing in price, due to those including all session fees and canvas
I’ll be refining my Collection options, as they have felt too confusing and overwhelming to many lately. I’m striving for a much more simplified approach for you all!
What this all means for you
- If you book your next session or due date by the end of September, you’ll get the current pricing, both for your fee and for your Collection! The only exception – if you’ll be toying with switching to a Watch Me Grow plan at your newborn session, you’ll need to commit to it before Oct 1st. If your newborn session is after Oct 1st, and you then decide to switch to WMG, you’ll fall under the new plan prices (but your fee will still be applied to the balance, as always).
- If you have an outstanding gallery you never made an initial order from, and it’s been more than 6 months since you first viewed that gallery, you will be charged the new prices beginning Oct 1st.
- Referral program will stay at a flat $100 referral bonus credit, and you’ll still be allowed to gather multiple credits by referring multiple clients!
So how far in advance are you allowed to book? If pregnant, you can book your due date as early as you’d like (I’ve been chatting with some February & March mamas lately)! Regular length sessions may be booked 8 months in advance.
