While most of my Kansas City photography sessions are newborn and baby focused, I do still love doing family and child sessions! I love the fun of letting kids be themselves, and also maybe getting to encourage some crazy behavior…. all in the name of a fun photo, of course!
When I saw the I Heart Faces challenge theme was Water/Rain, I immediately thought of a series of photos from one of my favorite families I photograph. We did their session at a family home last summer, and it had some beautiful landscaping for the backdrop. We ended the session by the side of the pool though! While we did one family portrait from the side of the pool, my absolute favorites are from when we let just the kids sit there, and I then told them to kick and splash. They didn’t disappoint!
Looking back at this picture is making me even more excited for summer! Anyone else ready for a trip to the pool now?
