I love when Kansas City families return to me for more portraits. Not only do I love seeing their children again and talking about how much has changed, but I also love dreaming with them about the next session and how it can be different or similar from the last picture day.
Today’s family was a fun mix of new and old! I’ve worked with this family many times over the last 6 years, and I was delighted when their mom entered and won my big 10 year giveaway this past summer.
We chatted, and while she knew she wanted to do something baseball (a throw back to her two sons’ newborn sessions with me) she also wanted to do something more dressed up for her older daughter.
And so I give you, the best of both worlds!

We started in the lovely garden at Gather at Red Cedar Gardens (yes, same place we hold the popular S’mores with Santa!), before moving on to a nearby baseball field.

We took advantage of the gorgeous bridal suite at Gather, so that The Piercing Beauty could spoil mom with hair and makeup right on site. Amazing job, as always!

As the sun continued to set, we loaded up and took a short drive to a baseball field, where the brothers changed into their custom Cardinals and Royals jerseys!
The inspiration behind this part? An image from each of their newborn sessions! Funny enough, they swapped which team they repped in these… the newborn Royals fan is now a grown up Cardinals fan, and vice versa.

Mini Sessions are fun and easy, I get that! But truly nothing beats my full length session, so we can tailor things to what fits your vision and your family. Nothing better!
So let’s talk. I have a bit of room still for 2021 sessions, but am also happy to start dreaming about a 2022 session with you!

The best!! We are obsessed ????
