2013 began with a little contest here at Faces You Love Photography. I put out a call for nominations for families that were deserving of a free, full-length portrait session and a $150 print credit. Amazing, heart-felt, tear-producing nominations poured in, and I was left wishing I could just photograph them all! A team of friends helped me narrow down the nominations to just one, and last week I met up with the winners and photographed them.
One of these sweet, 3 year old twins suffered some major brain trauma a couple of weeks before they were born. She’s been diagnosed with Periventricular Leukomalacia (PVL), and is considered a quadriplegia because cerebral palsy has manifested in all of her limbs. She also has epilepsy and is legally blind because of cortical vision impairment. (Her eyes can see, but the message doesn’t translate to her brain.)
Needless to say, she’s a pretty special little girl, with a very special and remarkable family! You can read their whole nomination story by clicking here. For now, I want to share some of my favorites from my session them! Enjoy, and consider leaving them some encouragement in the comments!

I love the ones of them laying together, so so cute, you can just see their sisterly bond!
Yes, Sara! It was so fun watching them giggling together – such a bond!
