Every once in a while, I receive a plethora of new props for my newborn sessions, and I get the urge to just use and practice with them all at once…. but there’s no newborn coming up in the next couple of weeks on the schedule! What’s a newborn photographer to do?
Enter the Model Call! I run these a handful of times a year for my Kansas City photography studio; sometimes they’re for older kids and families, and sometimes they’re for the littles. Last month I need a tiny baby, so I could work on using some new stuff, and try out a couple of new techniques. The most adorable little redhead applied to be my model! Ok, his mom is actually who did the applying, but you catch my drift.
I mean, seriously! How adorable is he!?
He was a great little sleeper too, and let me knock out several of the looks I was going for. I was absolutely thrilled, and more importantly, so was his mama.
I’m so excited to continue using these (and many, many more) gorgeous props and posing & lighting techniques with the slew of Kansas City babies that are already booked for their newborn sessions over the next few months. It’s going to be a great start to 2021!
